Phoenix FM continues to champion emerging artists by providing a platform for them to share their music and stories. In a recent feature, the station spoke with singer Sophie about her latest single and the exciting progress of her career. By spotlighting local talent, Phoenix FM helps musicians gain exposure, connect with new audiences, and take their next big step in the industry.
Local singer Sophie Griffiths has been a regular on Phoenix FM over the last few years and it has been great to follow her career as it progresses.
Last year ended on a high for Sophie after her cover of Labi Siffre’s “It Must Be Love” appeared on Love Island and I’m A Celebrity.
Spotify have been getting in on the act too – the closing track from her debut EP, ‘Let It Go’, was placed on Spotify’s New Music Friday UK. It’s helped her up to almost a million streams on Spotify alone.
Sophie visited Stewart Pink on his Drive show and talked about her new single, Modern Love, written with Fleur East and Nina Nesbitt writer Mikey Gormley – a song inspired by Generation Z dating rituals.
Sophie will be playing The Grace at Highbury Corner in March and will also be performing at London’s Close Up Festival in May. You can hear her interview with Stewart again at www.phoenixfm.com.
