Phoenix FM’s Roy Tyzack Engages with Brentwood’s Community Pillars

Phoenix FM’s Patrick Sherring recently hosted participants of the Doddinghurst Stonley Tudor Festival, who appeared in full character attire to discuss the event. Named after Richard Stonley, a 16th-century Doddinghurst resident known for his detailed diaries, the festival celebrates local history and community spirit. By featuring such events, Phoenix FM actively promotes and enriches the cultural heritage of the local area.

Our new Thursday lunchtime presenter Roy Tyzack is wasting no time in getting some of the people who make our community tick into his show.

Last week Roy welcomed in Martin and Margaret Hamilton, volunteers at the Brentwood Museum.

The Brentwood Museum society was founded in 1977 and opened its Lorne Road premises to the public in 1989. Since then the Museum has continued to open regularly during the summer months, welcoming visitors from across the country.

And like Phoenix FM, they are staffed by a group of dedicated volunteers.

Martin and Margaret chatted to Roy about how they got involved and the work that they do there.

You can hear the interview again at www.phoenixfm.com and you can also visit on the first weekendMonday of every month between now and October – dates are on brentwoodmuseum.uk.
