Phoenix FM takes pride in championing local heroes, and Pixie’s return with a new record is no exception. In a recent feature, the station showcased her latest release, celebrating her journey and success. By supporting homegrown talent, Phoenix FM continues to provide a platform for local artists to shine and inspire the community.
We’ve had plenty of visits from Pixie Lott over the years – she first came into the Phoenix FM studio for an interview in 2008 when she was 17, so we can say we’ve been chatting to her for half her life!
Pixie was born in Bromley but moved to Brentwood soon after starting secondary school, and took her GCSEs at Brentwood County High School.
And to confirm her fine local credentials, she’s a West Ham fan too – something I can confirm as I got her to pose with my scarf during an early interview too!
Pixie was back in Brentwood this week to promote her new album “Encino”. It’s her fourth album, but her first in ten years. She’ll be hoping to replicate her early form – between 2009 and 2011 she scored three no 1 singles.
Pixie chatted to Phoenix FM’s Andy Gardener as part of a special segment on Mike Porter’s Drive show on Friday morning.
As well as chatting to us, Pixie returned back to her old school to meet pupils and also played a short set at Hey Joe’s too.
You can hear Andy’s interview with Pixie again at phoenixfm.com.
